BSC had a great positive performance throughout the day. 28 fast swims were rewarded with 6 finals! 26 PB's, 17 Derbyshire County Championship times and 3 regional qualifying times were achieved! Competing were Harri Bowen, Sophie Byrne, Chloe Hodson, Lily Howard, Emma Longden, Helen Thornhill and Ruth Winkless. This was the very first open meet for Harri and Ruth and they certainly rose to the challenge.
The results prove that hard work and consistency in training pays off; streamlining and underwater kicks were phenomenal. Special mention has to go to Emma who destroyed everybody with her lethal underwater work.
It is very impressive to see how much we are improving as a club with regards to skills and technique. High elbows, great streamlining and good use of fly kicks off the walls were all positives.
The next step is to ensure streamlining is done on the dive before you enter the water to get a good start. Everyone swam really well on Sunday, well done swimmers!
