First of all, Id like to start with a MASSIVE thank you and well done to all the swimmers who competed on the day - It made it so enjoyable for myself, my mum and Karen.
Chloe Foster came away with trophies for 2nd and 3rd in 50m Backstroke and Freestyle respectively, Also winning a medal for 6th in 50m Breaststroke.
Matthew Barrett and Liam Howard both finished the day with 3rd place trophies for 50m Butterfly and 100m Breast respectively, With Liam picking up an extra medal for 5th in his 50m Fly swim.
Tom Prince finished 1st in 50m Breast but recieved a 'speeding ticket' and later, a medal for a 6th placed finish in 50m Free.
The surprise package of the day goes to Ben Prince who picked up a 'speeding ticket' for smashing his 100m Free time by 12 seconds and edging himself ever closer to a midland time. He also went on to pick up a trophy for 1st in 100m Back.
Antonia Dick won medals for 4th and 6th in 100m Back and Free when she eventually swam in the afternoon.
Michaela Dick, along with Maisie Needham, were both unlucky not to pick up a medal for their events during the day. Both missed out by the finest of margins in what was a very difficult 9 year-old age group.
The day’s senior swimmers Sophie Byrne and Lily Howard both took home prizes from every event they had entered. Sophie took three 1st place trophies for 100m Fly, Back and Breast, along with the third 'speeding ticket' of the day for 200m Individual Medley. Lily picked up 2nd place trophies for 200m IM, 100m Fly, Free, and Back before adding a 3rd place trophy for 100m Breast.
A special mention and thank you must also go to the parents that sat around with the swimmers until the very last race of the day to let swimmers cheer each other on. This is great for the moral of the swimmers and reflects well on the club.
